Three juveniles who escaped from a detention facility in Granbury this weekend were captured on Monday following a crime spree that crossed several Texas counties.

The suspects, aged 15 and 16, were tracked down about 80 miles away in Hutchins, Texas, after stealing cars and guns and committing an armed robbery, according to law enforcement officials.

The escape took place on Sunday evening at the Lake Granbury Youth Services facility, where the three juveniles, 16-year-old Kamiron McDole, 16-year-old Isaiah Lauderdale, and 15-year-old Asheton Marshall, managed to overpower two corrections officers.

According to a social media post from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the escapees then fled the facility, taking a vehicle and several firearms with them.

Following their escape, the trio embarked on a crime spree, stealing a second vehicle and committing an armed robbery at a gas station in Dublin, Texas.

Local authorities, including the Dublin and Granbury police departments, Erath County Sheriff’s Office, and DPS, launched a manhunt to track down the three suspects.

During their run, the juveniles headed to Lancaster, Texas, where police attempted to stop their stolen vehicle. However, the suspects once again evaded capture. They continued their escape to Hutchins, a small town near Dallas, where they eventually abandoned the stolen car and fled on foot, according to a report from Fox 4 News.

Law enforcement agencies continued their search through the Dallas area, and shortly after 9 a.m. on Monday, the juveniles were located and arrested at an apartment complex in the Hutchins area. Officers from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, along with other local agencies, executed a search of the apartment complex and took the suspects into custody.

Each suspect had been previously locked up at the Lake Granbury facility for various felony and misdemeanor offenses. McDole was facing charges related to murder, Lauderdale had been confined for a firearms violation and probation violations, and Marshall had been detained for evading arrest.

In addition to the trio’s new charges of escape, which are classified as first-degree felonies, authorities have indicated that the suspects will face new charges in connection with the robbery, auto theft, and firearms offenses.
