One person is in custody, and the State Fair of Texas is being evacuated, following reports of a shooting.

The Dallas Police Department posted on social media about the incident, advising people to “avoid the area.”

“Multiple injuries reported. Ambulances requested to the scene. Updates to follow. AVOID THE AREA!” reads a social media post by the emergency scene news site DFW Scanner.

A number of videos of people reacting at the scene are being posted online, showing fairgoers scrambling to leave the grounds.

The reported shooting took place not long before 8 p.m., according to Fox 4 KDFW.

Details about the incident were shared by Council Member Adam Bazaldua (District 7):

“I have been updated by the City Manager about a shooting that occurred in The State Fair of Texas food court tonight, sparked from a conflict between two people who knew each other. Three people were injured and the shooter is in DPD custody. The park is being evacuated for everyone’s safety.”
