A 22-year-old has been indicted by a grand jury in connection with the murder of two teenagers at a party in Garland in May.

Jose Damian Garcia, 18, and Melvin Salas, 17, were shot and killed in the 800 block of Magnolia Drive. Police arrived at the scene at approximately 11:45 p.m. on May 7 and found multiple people had been shot.

Garcia died at the scene while three other people, including Salas, were taken to local hospitals. Salas later died from his injuries.

The other two victims — an adult male and an adult female — were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested Christopher Torres, 22, and Jesus Saldana, 21, at the scene and charged them with murder. However, a grand jury filed a no-bill for Torres and Saldana and declined to indict them, finding no probable cause to indict the two. Unless additional evidence surfaces, their cases will not go to trial.

Police later reported that Caballero Omar Sebastian Caballero, 22, was arrested without incident on May 10. Caballero was indicted in connection to the murders, as police believe he fled the shooting scene before officers arrived. He remains in the Garland Detention Center without bond.

Further details on the case are not available. Investigation of the incident is ongoing, and the Garland Police Department urges anyone with helpful information to come forward.
