The Dallas Police Department arrested a 17-year-old for allegedly killing another teenager on Wednesday, according to the DPD Beat.
Investigations carried out by detectives revealed Chadrick Avery as the alleged shooter of Marlyn Gillespie, 18, who was found shot to death in a crashed vehicle. Authorities did not say how they linked the suspect to the homicide.
Dallas PD officers responded to the crash in the 9200 block of Skillman Street, near Interstate 635, at approximately 12:44 p.m on August 17.
Responding officers found that the driver of the vehicle, Gillespie, had been shot multiple times. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injury.
Avery was arrested and booked into the Dallas County jail on a murder charge on Wednesday at about 8:11 p.m. A magistrate set his bond at $1,000,000. It is not clear whether Avery had any legal representation.
