A 17-year-old male was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in South Dallas, and a 15-year-old juvenile has been charged in connection with the case, according to Dallas police.
Officers responded at approximately 12:30 p.m. on February 18 to a shooting call in the 3400 block of Pruitt Avenue. The preliminary investigation determined the 17-year-old had been shot by a 15-year-old male.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene, where the victim died.
The victim’s identity will be confirmed by the Dallas County Medical Examiner.
Police said the 15-year-old suspect was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter. His name has not been released due to his age.
The investigation remains ongoing under case number 023386-2026.
Based on publicly released Dallas Police Department reports, the victim marks at least the 12th homicide reported in Dallas in February 2026.
