Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fiery Crash, Killing Self and One Other

A fatal accident left two people dead after a wrong-way driver crashed into another vehicle on the LBJ Freeway on March 13.

Dallas Police were called about a wrong-way driver before the crash, which occurred at about 5:30 a.m.

Responding officers spotted the vehicle moving southbound in the northbound lanes and tried to get the driver’s attention.

However, the vehicle collided with a second car and was found burning near Oates Drive in Mesquite.

Mesquite Police Captain Stephen Biggs revealed that the drivers of both vehicles died in the crash. No other individuals were in either car.

The identities of the victims have not yet been revealed.

Following the crash, all northbound and some southbound lanes of LBJ freeway were shut down.
