Despite incumbent Mayor Eric Johnson running unopposed, 3,227 write-in votes were cast during the recent mayoral election in Dallas.

On May 6, Johnson secured another term, as did most City Council incumbents, as The Dallas Express reported previously.

While approximately 93% of voters cast their ballots in favor of Johnson, others opted for both certified and uncertified write-in candidates, according to the results of an open records request submitted by D Magazine.

In addition to the votes for write-in candidate Kendal Richardson, some Dallasites cast ballots for mayors ranging from Poopy McPoopface to Luka Doncic. A more exhaustive list of the write-in options can be found below.

Certified Write-Ins

It would have been possible to vote certified write-in candidates into the mayor seat.

Kendal Richardson garnered 552 votes on May 6. Richardson, 44, is an activist with an extensive background in non-profit work.

Jrmar Jefferson, who was not certified as a write-in candidate, was not included in the figures provided by D Magazine. The Dallas Express has reported previously on Jefferson, who was disqualified by the City Secretary and has since sued, alleging corruption.

Uncertified Write-Ins

Since there is no chance an uncertified write-in can take the mayoral seat, most names added to the ballot are written for fun.

Voters in Dallas certainly unleashed their creativity, as
