One woman was killed, and two children were injured in a crash near downtown Dallas on Thursday, November 4.
According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at about 8 am, as the woman was driving on southbound Interstate 35E. The sheriff’s office said the woman made an unsafe lane switch to get to the Woodall Rodgers ramp and was clipped by a pickup truck after hitting a barrier.
The woman, who the sheriff’s office described as being in her mid-30s, had two children with her in her vehicle. The two children, aged ten and twelve, were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. Deputies released him after they interviewed him.
The freeway and ramp were closed following the crash so that deputies could continue the investigation and allow the Texas Department of Transportation to replace the damaged barrier.
