An adult woman was found dead Saturday afternoon after a house fire swept through a home in Southeast Dallas, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR).
DFR crews responded at approximately 1:38 p.m. to a one-story residence in the 3000 block of Sundial Drive and arrived to find heavy flames coming from the front of the house, officials said. Firefighters entered the home and made an aggressive interior attack, bringing the blaze under control shortly before 3 p.m.
During a search of the residence, firefighters located an unresponsive woman on the floor of a room inside the home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
DFR declared “out taps” at 2:51 p.m., indicating suppression efforts had ended, but personnel remained on site awaiting the arrival of the Dallas County Medical Examiner, who will determine the woman’s cause of death.
Fire investigators have not yet identified what caused the fire. The incident remains under investigation.
