A woman sits in the Dallas County jail after allegedly fatally shooting her roommate and injuring a man who may have been her boyfriend on January 21 in the 9900 block of Whitehurst Drive at a Lake Highlands apartment in Dallas.

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. last Friday when 27-year-old Jalyce Simone Richardson and her roommate, 26-year-old Anthony Maynard, are said to have argued about living arrangements because Maynard wanted Richardson to move out.

When they began to fight, Richardson reportedly shot Maynard.

The other man present, allegedly Richardson’s 25-year-old boyfriend, tried to intervene once he saw what was happening, but she is said to have shot at him when he ran into the bedroom.

Both men were transported to a hospital, where Maynard was pronounced dead.

According to police, the boyfriend identified Richardson as the shooter.

Police discovered a handgun in her bedroom upon her arrest.

Richardson faces a murder charge for the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Maynard and aggravated assault for shooting the 25-year-old boyfriend, whose identity remains unknown.

Jalyce Simone Richardson’s bond is set for $600,000.
