Dallas Fort Worth International Airport will change drive-up parking and airport-access prices on October 1, raising the daily maximum at several parking lots while cutting some short pickup and drop-off charges for TollTag users, according to a DFW Airport announcement.
Prebooked parking at DFWairport.com will continue to offer the airport’s best available parking prices, with discounts of up to 50% off drive-up rates. Prebooking does not require a TollTag.
New Drive-Up Maximums
Beginning October 1, DFW’s maximum daily drive-up rates will be:
- Terminal: $37 with TollTag, $40 by credit card at exit
- Express covered: $23 with TollTag, $25 by credit card
- Express uncovered: $20 with TollTag, $22 by credit card
- Remote: $14 with TollTag, $16 by credit card
Pickup or drop-off stays between eight and 30 minutes will fall from $2 to $1 for TollTag users while rising to $3 for customers paying by credit card. Meeter-greeter stays of 30 to 60 minutes will cost $3 with TollTag and $5 by credit card.
A pass-through trip on International Parkway will cost $12 with TollTag and $15 by credit card, according to the airport’s newsroom announcement.
Through September 30, terminal parking remains capped at $32 for a six- to 24-hour drive-up stay, according to DFW’s terminal parking page. Beginning Oct. 1, that daily maximum rises to $37 with TollTag or $40 when paying by credit card at exit.
What Travelers Should Do Now
DFW said the changes follow its recurring review of market conditions and are intended to keep the airport’s prices competitive with similarly sized U.S. airports while encouraging travelers to use prebooked parking and TollTag.
The airport said these payment methods can reduce transaction times, keep control-plaza lanes moving and lower operating costs.
Travelers who use a TollTag must have it enabled for DFW parking and pass-through activity. New customers can establish accounts through the North Texas Tollway Authority.
DFW does not accept cash at its parking exits, and the airport does not use ZipCash, according to its TollTag parking page.
Prior Rate Hikes And Airport Costs
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, DFW raised several parking and pass-through charges in May 2024. Terminal parking increased from $27 to $32 per day, while the pass-through charge for vehicles spending eight minutes or less on airport property increased from $6 to $9. The Octopber 1 structure pushes the daily terminal maximum higher again while creating separate TollTag and credit-card prices for parking, pickup and drop-off stays and International Parkway pass-through trips.
Drivers who work around the airport can also encounter access and staging costs as part of their daily operations.
The Dallas Express recently examined conditions involving rideshare drivers gathering along a roadway near DFW after drivers reported problems receiving trips through designated airport staging areas.
The new prices take effect Thursday, October 1. Current rates remain in place through Wednesday, September 30. DFW has posted both the current and upcoming rates on its official parking pages.
