Dallas residents are speaking out about a man allegedly making lewd comments to women in the Uptown area of the city.

A Dallas resident posted on the Ring Neighborhood application to detail their alleged experience with the man, claiming that he approached their car and made lewd comments before leaving the area.

“This afternoon right in front of Mutts in uptown, a Hispanic male driving a silver Scion got out of his car and approached me. He asked if he could watch me go to the bathroom and made other comments. Please do not engage and stay alert in the area!” claimed the resident.

Multiple residents came to the original poster’s defense, claiming that this has become a common occurrence throughout areas in the city.

“This is really big on social media right now. Lots of women have had the same experience with this man in the area. I would try to make a report if you could so he can eventually be stopped,” wrote one comment.

He has been doing it all over the Knox/Henderson and uptown area for months. I know to women he has done this too and there have been several social media post about this creep. Sorry that happened to you,” claimed another resident.

Despite the claims made, there is no confirmation about whether these alleged events have taken place.

Various other responses called for the original poster to inform the police, though one comment also claimed that the department has been unable to do anything about the issue.

“Maybe undercover police should step in,” replied a commenter.

“Omg!! This has been all over TikTok, apparently he does this frequently. The police have been notified multiple times, but “can’t do anything” :/,” wrote another resident.

While these issues continue to persist throughout Dallas, the City Council continues to deal with a lack of police. Most recently, the City Council began to discuss a budget for the two upcoming fiscal years that would increase both funding and staffing for the Dallas Police Department, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

However, these increases still fail to meet the minimum requirements set in place by Proposition U, which was passed by voters in 2024 and requires the city to maintain certain requirements for the department.

City Councilmember Cara Mendelsohn has called out the lack of meaningful funding for the department since this budget was released, but it remains to be seen whether significant changes will be made.
