Two individuals died after two unrelated traffic accidents in Grapevine over the weekend.

On Saturday, January 15, first responders arrived at the scene in the 2700 block of Dove Road after receiving a call from a motorist.

Police discovered 59-year-old Stevie Mowery lying in the road. His damaged SUV was stopped close to the area.

Mowery was transported to a hospital for his injuries, where he died shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Tire marks found at the scene indicate the SUV went off the road, jumped over a curb, and hit a tree. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

No other cars are known to be involved.

In the second accident, around 4:15 p.m. on January 16, a Dallas woman was driving a gray Jeep headed east on SH-121 when she abruptly veered right to enter a ramp onto eastbound Interstate 635.

The 44-year-old struck an empty Arrow truck parked at the split and then hit the barrier wall of the Interstate 635 ramp.

The unidentified woman was transported to a hospital, where she later died.

The medical examiner will release the victim’s name after the next of kin is notified.

According to witnesses, speed may have played a role in the accident.

An investigation is underway.
