Two Dallas 20-Year-Olds Arrested in Connection with Shooting in Mesquite

The Mesquite Police Department said they arrested two 20-year-old men on Monday, Oct. 4, in connection with the shooting of an 18-year-old over the weekend.

Mesquite police were called to a shooting scene on Saturday, Oct. 2, at about 7 p.m. The incident occurred in the 2000 block of Hillcrest Street, near Galloway Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a man who had received a gunshot wound.

Mesquite police later identified the man as Dillon Lawrence, 18. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from the injury sustained from the shooting.

Mesquite police said on Monday that they arrested Luiz Angel Borromeo and Axle Yair Lopez on murder charges. Both men are currently being held at the Dallas County jail, and their bails have not been set.
