The 20th annual Freedom Day is approaching, and there is still time to get involved. On Freedom Day, hundreds of Dallas residents perform community service acts to improve the city and the lives of area residents.
The Communities Foundation of Texas for Business (CFT4B) strives “to build thriving communities for all by partnering with difference-makers,” such as local individuals, families, and businesses.
CFT4B’s communitywide volunteer service event takes place Friday, Sept. 10. Residents young and old can still make a difference in Thriving Communities for All on Freedom Day 2021.
Visiting the Freedom Day 2021 website reveals a variety of virtual and in-person volunteer opportunities. Some of the organizations offering opportunities for service include North Texas Food Bank, Texas Ramp Project, Mosaic Family Services, Hagar’s Heart, Unbound, Project Unity, and Juliette Fowler Communities.
Even during the pandemic in 2020, CFT4B’s Freedom Day included more than 300 volunteers who took part in virtual and socially distanced projects.
The goal for 2021 is to have at least 750 volunteers throughout North Texas, each making a positive difference in neighborhoods.
Over the last two decades, Freedom Day events have united more than 14,000 volunteers who donated an excess of 50,000 hours. In the process, they turned the Sept. 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance from a day of sorrow to an opportunity to make a positive impact in North Texas.
