Abriella Payne, 17, was arrested on January 13 after causing a head-on collision. She was driving a Chevy Tahoe in Johnson County on FM 917 near Maxey Road. State troopers allege Payne was driving while intoxicated.

The teen girl swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting a Toyota Tacoma and, subsequently, a Jeep Gladiator. There was also a Dodge Charger on the on-way road behind her. After Payne’s Tahoe hit the Tacoma, the driver of the latter collided with the Charger.

Not including Payne, the three other drivers were transported to a hospital, with two airlifted due to the seriousness of their conditions.

Payne incurred minor injuries treated at the scene.

She was taken to the Johnson County Jail facing these three counts: intoxication, assault, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
