Suspected Drunk Driver Hits, Kills Pedestrian In North Dallas Crash

A suspected drunk driver struck and killed a pedestrian late Thursday night in North Dallas, police said.

The collision occurred around 11:30 p.m. at Stone Canyon Road and Riverbrook Drive. The victim died after being transported to a hospital.

Dallas police arrested the driver at the scene after administering a field sobriety test. The driver apparently failed the test, according to officers who responded to the crash.

Police have not released the identities of either the victim or the driver. Specific charges against the driver remain pending while the investigation continues.

The crash site sits in a mixed residential and commercial area of North Dallas. Stone Canyon Road runs through several neighborhoods near the intersection.
