In a social media post, a Starbucks employee claimed to have spit in the drink of a prominent conservative student at the University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton.

UNT student and former president of the Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) Kelly Neidert stumbled across the post on the social media network Yik Yak, which lets users within the same geographical area interact anonymously.

“Kelly from the right came to my Starbucks this morning, and she got a BIG spit in her drink,” reads the post.

Neidert then took to Twitter to ask people to help get the attention of the Starbucks where the alleged incident occurred.

“Starbucks employees spit in my drink because they knew I’m conservative! Conservative Twitter, do your thing,” wrote Neidert in response. She included the store number and phone number in the post.

The news site Current Revolt reported that they contacted the store and spoke to a worker who identified himself as the manager but did not provide a name. The worker said that he would not be talking to his staff about the incident, nor would there be an investigation into the matter or a review of the security camera footage.

The alleged incident occurred a little over a week after Neidert played a significant part in organizing a speaking event at UNT for Texas State House candidate Jeff Younger.

Younger gained notoriety due to a lengthy custody battle over his child. The candidate’s ex-wife, Dr. Anne Georgulas, diagnosed their child with gender dysphoria, a condition where one feels as if their emotional and psychological identity differs from their birth sex.

A jury ruled last August in Dr. Georgulas’ favor saying she had the right to foster the child’s social transition and that Younger should lose custody.

The event at UNT was taken over by dozens of students who began pounding on tables and shouting “F*** you fascist” until Younger and the event organizers were forced to leave.

Police escorted Younger and Neidert out as students surrounded them, shouting in protest. Younger had to leave campus in a police car while Neidert apparently hid in a janitor’s office to escape the mob.

Neidert said she was expecting backlash and coordinated with police before the event because she had previously received “death threats and threats of violence” at school.
