DALLAS – On Sunday, February 2, at 2:00 p.m. on Hardwood St., pro-illegal immigration groups advocating against immigration enforcement are expected to gather in downtown Dallas to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation policies.
This protest follows a similar demonstration on January 26, where pro-illegal immigration activists gathered in both Dallas and Fort Worth to oppose ICE operations. As previously reported by the Dallas Express, the event caused significant disruptions in downtown Dallas.
Planned for 2:00 p.m., the protest is being organized by the Next Generation Action Network and the National Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression and will be held outside Dallas City Hall.
Flyers circulating on social media from these organizations call for action against recent ICE operations in North Texas, where multiple arrests of individuals in the country illegally have taken place.
Protest organizers claim these enforcement efforts are unjust and are seeking to rally supporters to demand changes to federal immigration policy.
Supporters of strong border enforcement maintain that ICE’s efforts are necessary to uphold immigration laws, protect national security, and prevent illegal immigration from placing undue strain on local resources.
Authorities have not publicly commented on any potential security measures or expected law enforcement response to the protest.
However, given past demonstrations, there are concerns about whether the event will remain peaceful or if disruptions to traffic and local businesses will occur.
The protest is part of a broader trend of pro-illegal immigration activism taking place in cities across the country, as activists continue to push back against immigration enforcement efforts.
The Dallas Express will provide updates and report on any significant developments as the event unfolds.
