A transgender performer exposed themself to the audience, which included minors, at Texas Latinx Pride Fest in Dallas over the weekend.

The event was held at Reverchon Park on September 14 and was open to all ages.

“Texas Latino Pride is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering unity, celebrating diversity, and promoting inclusivity within the Latinx LGBTQ+ community. We strive to create safe spaces and provide resources that empower our community members to embrace their authentic selves,” the event’s Eventbrite description reads.

The performer in question, P1nkStar, was wearing lingerie during their musical number. Their past performances typically involve sexually charged dances and minimal clothing, as can be seen on their Instagram page.

“Since moving from Mexico in 2014, p1nkstar has rapidly become an emblematic figure in the Texas nightlife scene by opening inclusive spaces that center that work of queer and trans artists of color in a city that is rapidly becoming whiter and straighter. p1nkstar has received two Best of Austin awards for her space-making work in the arts and nightlife & has been presented as the future of nightlife by The Austin Chronicle,” P1nkstar’s website reads.

During Saturday’s Latinx Pride Festival, P1nkstar and two other transgender performers performed sexually charged dances in front of the crowd. At one point, the dancers got on the stage floor and grabbed P1nkstar’s legs and buttocks.

Near the end of the show, P1nkstar removed their bra and revealed artificial breasts to the audience.

Some people on X have reacted in a critical manner to the event.

“This is why I say Drag culture is NOT for kids folks!” George Santos posted on X.

“Transgender performer exposes his prosthetic breasts and twerks for children in a s*xually charged show at a ‘family friendly’ pride event in Dallas, TX,” Libs of Tik Tok posted on X.

The Dallas Express reached out to Texas Latinx Pride Fest and asked why the event was open to minors but did not receive a response by publication.

In a statement to DX, Dallas County Republican Party Chair Allen West said:

“I thought that CPS existed in Texas to protect our children. I think there’s still a criminal charge called contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Why are we not enforcing that against parents who are exposing our children to perverse adult sexual behavior and deviancy? If adults wish to participate in this debauchery, fine, but it is not freedom of speech or expression to expose our children to sexual activity, performances, and perversion. As Chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party, I denounce this behavior and exposure of our children … and call upon the Dallas County Democrat Party Chairman to do the same. If he does not, that’s rather disturbing and telling.”
