Dallas Police are looking for a man who they say stole from an employee at a Family Dollar store on January 17.
Detectives state the suspect walked into the store, located in the 1515 block of South Buckner Boulevard in Dallas, between 3:38 p.m. and 3:50 p.m.
According to surveillance footage that captured the incident, the man entered a storage area that is restricted to the public and opened a storage bin.
He then went into the office at the front of the building, another restricted area.
Police say he picked up an employee’s purse in the office, looked through it, and took $84 cash along with some personal property.
After taking the items from the purse, the suspect exited the office and went to the front register, where he appeared to pay for something before leaving the store.
The DPD Beat described the suspect — pictured above in an image taken from the store’s surveillance footage — as a black male between 20 and 35 years old.
The Dallas Police Department is asking anyone who has information about the theft or can identify the suspect to reach out to Detective J. Williams, #8384 at 214-671-0142 by phone or via email at [email protected]. Please refer to report number 802489-2022.
