Dallas Police say they have no evidence of a suspected vehicle that resulted in a fatal hit-and-run when thirty-three-year-old Anthony Ryan was struck in far east Dallas while trying to walk across Ferguson Road.

The only information they have is that the vehicle did not stop and provide aid to Ryan. The victim passed away at the hospital on Christmas Eve, according to the Dallas PD website.

No witnesses have come forward, and no surveillance in the area where the incident occurred. On December 12, Ryan was walking with a green shopping cart around 12:45 a.m. north of Interstate 30 in the 7400 block of Ferguson Road, according to the Dallas Police Department. Fox 4 reported that Ryan’s girlfriend, Amanda Maham, stated he was walking to buy cigarettes.

After being hit, Ryan was taken to the hospital, where he had to have his leg amputated. He also “suffered severe head trauma.” Ryan died from his injuries on December 24.

“Somebody knows something. Somebody hit him,” Maham said.

Ryan lived in Missouri with Maham. In November, they both came to Dallas when Maham’s father passed to stay with her sister. Her sister lives “a few blocks away” from where Ryan was struck crossing the road, according to Fox 4.

Maham expressed, “I understand it is an accident and being scared or whatnot, but you left a human being on the street to die alone. Nobody deserves that.” Hoping that someone speaks up, Maham pleaded, “Just do the right thing… he didn’t deserve any of that.”

Anyone who has information regarding the hit-and-run that resulted in Ryan’s death is asked to call 214-671-0014 to contact Detective Kyle Land #8283 or send him an email at [email protected]. The Dallas Police Department asks people to reference Dallas Police case number 223940-2021.
