Police Looking for Man Who Caused Damage to Gandhi Memorial

Irving police are on the hunt for a man caught on surveillance footage causing extensive damage to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial at Thomas Jefferson Park on Oct. 2.

The suspect caused the damage at about 1 a.m. at the memorial located at 1200 N Meadow Creek Dr. The surveillance footage showed the man hitting the walls with what seemed to be a hammer.

The footage also showed the man hitting the door with a metal shovel. The man can also be seen in the footage walking around the memorial holding metal fencing he had destroyed.

Irving police revealed that the suspect also caused damages at the Verizon Headquarters located at 600 Hidden Ridge in the afternoon of Oct.2.

Police revealed that the man was also responsible for damage to two vehicles in nearby apartment communities.
