The Balch Springs Police Department has confirmed that it is currently investigating a possible road rage incident after a man was found shot by his vehicle on LBJ Freeway on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
The incident occurred around 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday near Lake June Road. Police say a man was found shot near an overturned SUV and lying in the middle of the highway. The man was taken by air ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The man’s juvenile son, who was with him in the vehicle, was also injured. Both victims were hospitalized and are expected to recover from their injuries.
Detectives from Balch Springs have yet to interview the father because of ongoing surgery and medications. However, the detectives are interviewing eyewitnesses and collecting more information to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
