Police Find 63-Year-Old Man Shot at Home

Garland police found a man with a fatal gunshot wound at a Garland home during a welfare check on Thursday night, police said.

As reported by Dallas Morning News, Garland police went to perform a welfare check at the 800 block of Sylvan Drive, between Garland Avenue and Glenbrook Drive, at about 9 p.m. When they got to the home, they found a man who had been shot in a bedroom.

Police identified the man as 63-year-old Michael Marcoe.

According to authorities, Marcoe was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

While police said they do not know what led to the shooting, they said they are investigating the case as a homicide. It is unclear if any suspect has been identified as police have not released additional information about the case.
