Mesquite police have taken a teenager into custody for allegedly killing a man at a Mesquite business on Wednesday, November 17.

According to police, officers responded to the 1800 block of North Galloway Avenue after receiving a shots-fired call. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that an adult male had been shot several times and was in critical condition.

The victim was transferred to a nearby hospital but later died as a result of his wounds.

Mesquite police say their investigation into the case led them to arrest a 15-year-old in connection with the crime. Officers say the suspect’s name will not be released because he is a minor. Police have also not released the name of the victim.

The Mesquite Police Department is urging anyone with information about the crime to contact the department at 972-285-6336. Anyone with helpful information can also call Investigator M. Heidelberg at 972-216-6290.
