Dallas police have arrested a suspect in connection with the street-racing crash that resulted in the death of 73-year-old Linda Pearson in the Casa View neighborhood of Far East Dallas.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Pearson was walking her dog about 2:15 p.m. when a black Chevrolet Impala hit her while racing with a yellow Chevrolet Camaro on 10100 Ferguson Rd.

The drivers of both cars failed to stop after the crash and fled the scene.

Pearson was pronounced dead at the scene. The dog, who reportedly sustained severe injuries, also later died as a result of the crash, according to a report by The Dallas Morning News.

Investigators have not released details of the suspect involved in the hit-and-run. They also didn’t specify which of the two vehicles was driven by the suspect.

Police say only one person has been arrested so far, and the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash is still at large.
