Arlington Police arrested a 26-year-old man on Monday for allegedly fatally stabbing his mother on February 27, as reported by NBC 5 DFW.

Around 7:30 p.m. on February 27, officers arrived at the 1900 block of Longmeadow Drive after a man reported that he had returned from the store and discovered his wife bleeding in the front yard.

First responders arrived at the scene and pronounced 55-year-old Teresa Dewitt Pierce dead.

Upon investigation, police came to believe her 26-year-old son, Nathan Woodard, was the attacker.

After authorities conducted a search, Woodward was found on February 28 near Cooper Street and Park Row Drive in Arlington, as reported by WFAA.

Woodard is being held in the Arlington City Jail and faces one count of murder.

He was previously arrested on January 4 for alleged criminal mischief and was on probation for the charge at the time of the crime.
