According to a FOX 4 News report, Mesquite police tried to pull over the driver of a silver car for a traffic violation around 5 p.m., but instead of stopping, the driver sped off, leading police into a chase.

Police officers followed the car into East Dallas. The driver drove through residential areas and then headed towards the Central Expressway during rush hour.

Per FOX 4 News, the driver then drove in the wrong direction on the service road and almost hit a vehicle while trying to make a U-turn.

The Texas Department of Public Safety joined the chase, monitoring the car from a helicopter.

When the driver got to Fitzhugh Avenue in Downtown Dallas, he stopped the car and tried to run away on foot. However, officers caught up to him and stopped him with a stun gun.

No injuries were reported in the chase.
