Off-Duty Police Officer Chases Suspects in Fatal Shooting

16-year-old Larayah Foreman, was shot and killed in the 100 block of Murdock Road allegedly by a group of people. A uniformed off-duty officer was nearby and witnessed the shooting. The officer followed the suspects’ car as they fled the scene, police say.

During the pursuit, the suspects noticed that the witness was following them and started firing shots at the officer in the 400 block of Longbranch Lane.

After multiple hits from the gunfire, the officer’s car was disabled, so he pulled over and waited for other on-duty officers to arrive.

The off-duty officer was not injured and was able to give the police a description of the suspects and their car. According to the police report, the officer did not return fire as the suspects shot at him.

Dallas Police have not released information about what led to the shooting and say the investigation is still ongoing.
