The match, part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted in North Texas, kicked off at 12 p.m. CT. Norway took an early lead and responded to Ivory Coast’s equalizer with a decisive second goal. Goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland made a critical late save to preserve the win, reported Fox Sports.
Dallas Stadium, known as AT&T Stadium during NFL season, hosted its first knockout-stage match of the tournament. The venue has already welcomed multiple group-stage games and is scheduled for additional knockout rounds and a semifinal.
Norway’s win moves them forward in the single-elimination bracket. Ivory Coast’s tournament run ends after a competitive showing in the group stage.
FIFA officials and local organizers reported smooth operations at the stadium, with enhanced security and traffic measures in place for the international event. The match drew global attention as one of Tuesday’s featured knockout games.
This victory marks a historic advancement for Norway in the expanded 48-team World Cup format. The team will now prepare for the next round.
Dallas Stadium is one of 11 U.S. venues for the 2026 tournament and is hosting a total of nine matches, the most of any host city.
