The Dallas Police Department said NorthPark Center is now secure after a bomb threat prompted an evacuation and large police response Wednesday.

Officers responded to a reported threat around 11:53 a.m. at the mall in the 8600 block of North Central Expressway, according to police.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the facility was evacuated and the DPD Explosive Ordnance Disposal team searched and cleared the building,” police said.

Authorities confirmed that as of 3:10 p.m., the building and surrounding area were secure.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, NorthPark Center was evacuated earlier in the day after what officials initially described as a “security incident,” with police urging the public to avoid the area as officers redirected traffic and investigated.

The incident drew a heavy law enforcement presence, with officers blocking entrances and clearing the mall while shoppers and employees gathered outside.

Police have not released additional details about the nature of the threat or whether any suspects have been identified.

The investigation remains ongoing.
