North Texas and parts of Central Texas are expected to experience more winter weather on March 11, according to the U.S. National Weather Service Fort Worth Texas.
The service expects temperatures to be cold enough for snow or sleet, but the amount of precipitation or its coverage is unknown. It is predicted that the winter mix will begin on Friday, March 11, in the morning and early in the afternoon.
There is a 33% chance of no precipitation occurring and the region only experiencing cold temperatures. There will likely be a 55% chance of a minor impact from snow or sleet and a 12% probability of significant wintry weather.
The snow and sleet could make for slippery travel, especially on bridges and overpasses. The weather service should have a better prediction on March 10.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Dallas-Fort Worth experienced severe weather conditions in February, but luckily there were fewer emergency situations than the February 2021 winter storm.
According to Dallas Fire-Rescue Assistant Chief Justin Ball, many Dallas drivers refrained from traveling during severe weather conditions. Only forty-five accidents, one being a fatality, were reported in a 12-hour period, which is half a regular day.
