Dallas police found Trevon Joseph Quick in a parking lot with a gunshot wound.

Dallas Police said a man was shot on Friday, Oct. 1, in the Lake Highlands area.

Dallas police officers responded to a shooting call at about 7:40 p.m. in the 9800 block of Audelia Road, near the intersection of Walnut Hill Lane. The shooting happened near the Lavera apartments, east of Audelia.

Dallas police were investigating a car that had a broken windshield at the scene. Police said the vehicle also had a broken rear window.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Trevon Joseph Quick, in an apartment complex parking lot. Police said Quick had a gunshot wound.

Police said that Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and took Quick to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injury.
