Major Crash Causes Vehicle to Catch Fire, I-820 Shut Down

North Richland Hills police are investigating a fiery crash that occurred on Loop 820 on Wednesday, December 22.

The police department said the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of IH-820. The crash involved a fuel tanker and an empty animal waste truck. One person was taken to the hospital.

One of the vehicles caught on fire after the crash, according to police.

The accident forced traffic to exit at Bedford-Euless Rd in North Richland Hills due to eastbound and westbound toll lanes being shut down.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
