Fort Worth first responders rescued an alleged domestic abuse victim on Wednesday night who was imprisoned in a storage shed in Fort Worth, according to WFAA.

Around 9:15 p.m. on April 20, officers arrived at the Pollard Self Storage located in the 2300 block of Pollard Street, near East Loop 820 and Meadowbrook Drive, after receiving reports of a woman being held captive in the facility.

The victim had previously been homeless but lived with the suspect. The woman was allegedly assaulted by the suspect, so she moved out and began living in the storage unit, according to police.

The suspect located the woman in the storage facility, shut the door from the outside, and prevented her from exiting. It is not clear how long she was locked inside.

Police and firefighters rescued the woman from the storage facility. MedStar treated her, and then she was released.

The suspect has yet to be apprehended or identified. Police are examining the case for possible charges of assault with bodily injury to a family member and unlawful restraint.
