A Dallas fire station suffering from air conditioning problems received a generous donation from a Dallas-based AC company.
Last week, the non-profit Krodle Foundation, whose goal is helping firefighters, reached out to Mr. Restore restoration services and let them know Station 24 was having issues with their AC unit, WFAA reported.
Clint Junell, co-founder of Mr. Restore, did not hesitate. With temperatures routinely hitting triple digits this summer, he said his team delivered two portable air conditioning units to the station.
“The air going into the unit is going to start at what we consider 100 degrees. So we are able to knock the temperature in the environment down per 1,000-square-foot per unit to about 75 degrees,” Junell said.
The City of Dallas initially provided two units to the station after the air conditioning went out, according to Dallas Fire Fighters Association (DFFA) President Jim McDade. He said the additional units from Mr. Restore would bring additional cooling to the station.
“We’re very thankful for people like Mr. Restore to come in and help out whenever it’s needed,” McDade said.
McDade confirmed to reporters that the station’s primary AC unit has been fixed, and the station is scheduled to get a new AC system.
The DFFA president added that Station 24 is not the only one with maintenance issues. He told WFAA that the AC had gone out at other stations during previous summers.
