The City of Richardson has announced that it will be combining the renovation of its city hall and public library. This merging of the two projects is an effort to save on mobilization and other costs, explained the City said in its announcement.
The combination of the projects allows the City to employ one architect and one contractor.
The library and city hall renovation projects are part of the $190 million 2021 Bond Program that voters approved in November 2021.
The City said that community input surveys will be sent out to “help guide the future designs of both facilities.” The surveys will be available both in print and electronic format.
Before the surveys are sent out, a public meeting will be held where residents can ask questions regarding the projects.
According to the City’s announcement, another public meeting will be held within the next six months. There, the results of the surveys will be presented for residents to see how the information was used to develop designs.
