Gunman Fires at Dallas Police Officer in West Oak Cliff

The Dallas police department says that a man fired shots at a Dallas police officer on Friday. The department announced the incident in a news release on Saturday, saying that the officer was sitting in his patrol car in west Oak Cliff when the incident happened.

According to a news release by police, the incident happened just after 11:30 p.m. in the 5300 block of West Jefferson Boulevard, near South Walton Walker Boulevard.

The release stated that the officer heard gunshots when he was in his patrol car. After hearing “approximately three gunshots,” he got out of the car and called for cover.

The department says that the shots didn’t hit the officer, and no one was injured in the incident.

The officer didn’t get a good look at whoever fired the shots, police said in the release.

Police have not said anything further about the case. It is unclear whether there is a suspect in the case. Additionally, it is unknown if any arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.
