The City of Dallas has opened temporary shelters for unsheltered residents due to severe winter weather conditions. Volunteers aged 18 and older are needed at both Oak Lawn United Methodist Church and Grand Place at Fair Park.

The City of Dallas has posted Winter Weather Preparedness tips for residents, including securing family members and pets, ensuring home safety, managing power outages, and road safety.

A cold front is forecasted to impact the area on Sunday, bringing freezing temperatures next week, per the National Weather Service.

Sunday’s weather will be mostly sunny, with temperatures dropping to around 37°F by 5 PM. Windy conditions are expected, with northwest winds at 25 to 30 mph and gusts reaching up to 35 mph. Tonight, it will remain mostly clear, with a low of about 24°F and blustery north-northwest winds.

Monday will be sunny with a high near 40°F. The nights will stay clear with lows around 24°F.

Tuesday brings mostly sunny skies and a high of 41°F, transitioning to mostly cloudy at night.

Midweek, Wednesday, we will see similar cloudy conditions with a high near 37°F and a slight chance of snow showers after midnight.

On Thursday, expect more snow and rain mixed, with a 60% chance of precipitation before noon.

The weekend looks to be sunnier, with temperatures reaching into the upper 40s.
