In February, former Dallas schoolteacher Geneva McGaughey celebrated her 100th birthday, and her family was excited to honor their centenarian.

In a video by NBC 5 News, she can be seen with party props and a cake.

According to a report by NBC 5 News, Geneva McGaughey raised four daughters and a son with her husband. She was an educator who taught at three Dallas ISD elementary schools before retiring. The schools she taught include Birdie Alexander, Colonial, and Davey Crockett.

A real-world beauty, Geneva McGaughey was voted most beautiful at Prairie View A&M in 1943.

McGaughey’s family members said she is a kind and religious woman who loves reading her Bible and singing hymns. They also said she enjoyed singing old songs and reciting poems she learned during her career as an educator. Her other interests include coloring books, eating black walnut ice cream, and watching the TV program Family Feud.

Family members also shared McGaughey’s favorite saying – “Be sweet, and I love you.”
