Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is set to attend a fundraiser in Dallas on Monday.

Dallas Morning News obtained an invitation stating Gov. DeSantis and his wife, Casey, will be attending a fundraiser event at the home of Dallas billionaire Kenny Troutt and his wife, Lisa.

Guests attending the event are asked to pay $2,500 a person, while the event’s co-chairs are paying $25,000 a person.

DeSantis is widely expected to be a presidential contender for 2024, especially if former President Donald Trump decides against a comeback. He has led in most republican straw polls for the 2024 race that did not include Trump. He also won the July “If Trump Doesn’t Run in 2024” straw poll conducted at Dallas’s Conservative Political Action Conference.

In his first term as Florida governor, DeSantis has not hidden his disdain for mask mandates and the proposed vaccine passport. He has also refused to back President Biden’s new vaccine mandate and says Florida will not adhere to this order. Gov. DeSantis took bold steps to reopen Florida ahead of many states that remained in lockdown due to COVID-19.
