Dallas Fire-Rescue crews battled a two-alarm fire at a former nightclub in northwest Dallas early Friday morning, forcing firefighters to withdraw from the building and fight the flames from outside.
The building, in the 2100 block of West Northwest Highway, formerly housed DG’s Night Club, NBC 5 reported.
Dallas Fire-Rescue dispatched crews at 3:02 a.m., according to department information reported by FOX 4.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the building. Crews initially entered to attack the flames, then discovered fire spreading through concealed spaces within the structure, officials said.
The department called a second alarm as the fire grew.
Firefighters battle blaze from outside
The fire had advanced enough that crews abandoned the interior operation. Firefighters used ground lines and two aerial ladder pipes to fight the blaze.
Crews extinguished the fire at approximately 7:45 a.m., according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.
No injuries reported
Dallas Fire-Rescue reported no injuries and said the building was empty when the fire was reported.
Officials have not released a cause or the full extent of the damage.
Road closures affected Loop 12 and Northwest Highway near the building during firefighting operations, NBC 5 reported.
