Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has added another international destination to its ever-growing list with the recent launch of Fiji Airways’ nonstop flights to Nadi, Fiji.

This exciting new route officially kicked off on December 10, 2024, offering travelers a direct path to the picturesque islands of Fiji.

The airline will operate this route three times weekly—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—utilizing the modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The journey from DFW to Nadi spans approximately 13 hours and 25 minutes, making it a convenient option for North Texans looking to explore a tropical getaway, reported Fort Worth Report.

DFW CEO Sean Donohue expressed his enthusiasm, stating earlier in the year that the addition of Fiji expands the airport’s global network, which now includes over 250 destinations. This new connection not only opens doors for leisure travelers but also strengthens DFW’s position as a key hub for international business and tourism. Passengers now have seamless access to Fiji’s stunning beaches and vibrant culture without the need for layovers.

Fiji Airways’ Airbus A350-900 is designed with comfort in mind, boasting 301 economy class seats and 33 business class seats that convert into lie-flat beds. This ensures that travelers on the long-haul flight arrive well-rested and ready to enjoy their destination. The aircraft’s advanced features provide a more fuel-efficient, quieter, smoother journey, enhancing the overall passenger experience.

With the launch of this route, Fiji Airways will join other airlines making strategic moves to expand their North American presence.

DFW is now the fifth North American destination served by Fiji Airways, joining major hubs such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver. This expansion highlights the increasing demand for travel to the South Pacific and reflects Fiji Airways’ commitment to connecting more travelers to the idyllic islands of Fiji. The airline’s strategic choice of DFW adds a central U.S. gateway, making it easier for travelers from various regions to access this new route. The airline hopes this move will boost tourism while fostering stronger cultural and business exchanges between Fiji and the U.S.

The introduction of this new service also represents a significant economic opportunity for North Texas.

As more travelers pass through DFW, local businesses, hotels, and tourism services stand to benefit. Additionally, the route encourages tourism in Fiji, which plays a critical role in the island nation’s economy.
