The family of a motorcyclist, who is currently fighting for his life after a hit-and-run incident left him hospitalized and in critical condition, are frustrated that the Dallas police have not found the driver involved.

Billy Dunn was on his motorcycle getting on the ramp to US-75 near Good Latimer on Sept. 18, when he was hit by a driver of a white pickup truck. The driver fled the crash scene leaving Dunn without help.

Billy’s sister, Jessica Dunn, said she received a call at around 3 a.m. from friends who witnessed the crash. Jessica said the friends told her that the car dragged him and his bike for a distance of twenty feet before the driver fled.

“Two of our friends actually had to perform CPR on him because he had no pulse,” Jessica described.

Jessica said she and other friends of Dunn were initially unsure if he would survive the hit-and-run crash.

Jessica later revealed that Dunn, a father to two children, is fighting for his life in the hospital. She said Dunn still has a blood clot in his aortic area, along with his kidneys. She added that her brother also sustained fractures to his ribs and face.

“The numbers aren’t exactly where they want them to be,” Jessica added.

The Dallas PD is currently investigating the hit-and-run incident. According to Jessica, their failure to put the hit-and-run driver behind bars two weeks after the incident has left the family frustrated.

Jessica said the family is getting frustrated as they wait to discover the identity of the driver. She said it would be a relief to see the driver arrested.

Investigators told Dunn’s family that no city-owned cameras captured the crash, but the family is hoping that footage from a friend’s Go-Pro camera can lead to the driver’s arrest.
