A companion bar and restaurants are set open beside one another in a historic building in Downtown Dallas.
Skyline Lounge and Sip’Stroke Lounge are the sister concepts from cityscapes artist and interior designer Kushal Raj Bastkakoti. The two establishments will occupy a vintage building at 2012 Commerce St. in the city’s downtown.
The bar, Skyline Lounge, will open its doors first, welcoming patrons in mid-summer. Bastakoti describes the establishment as “a membership lounge without a fee, where people can host their business meetings or after-office drinks,” per CultureMap Dallas.
Expect a mix of cocktails, with American, Mediterranean, and Nepalese-inspired flavors. While the location will not directly cook up food, patrons can order items from the companion establishment next door.
The restaurant, Sip’Stroke Lounge, will serve up a diverse menu from burrata, chicken wings, masala grilled lamb chops, and Danish tartlets, a sort of pot pie dish made with chicken and asparagus.
A bar, and notably, golf simulators, will be featured on the first floor of the two-story establishment, hence the name Sip’Stroke. The location, which is expected to open in 2026, will share a patio with Skylounge and house the restaurant alongside a café on the second level.
“Everybody that lives in the DFW area wants to come downtown. Every painting I make of cities have millions of dreams. People travel to cities and carry their dreams,” said Bastakoti.
The building, constructed in 1925, was listed with the Historical Society of Dallas in 2025. In addition to the forthcoming twin concepts, the century-old structure is undergoing renovations to turn a portion of the second floor into apartments.
