According to Coppell Police, a “domestic situation” left a 21-year-old woman and 20-year-old man dead in an apparent murder-suicide outside of GEORGE | Coffee + Provisions.

Around 11:15 a.m. on February 16, police arrived at the 400 block of Houston Street in Old Town Coppell to find Caitlin Rogers shot to death.

According to witnesses, they saw a man fleeing the scene.

Officers located the man, identified as Nicholas Twining, nearby with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine, where he died shortly before noon.

The two were former college roommates, but it is unclear what their current relationship was.

Out of precaution, authorities placed the nearby school, Wilson Elementary, in “lockout.” The lockout was lifted shortly after noon.     

The Coppell Police Department posted to Facebook after the incident that the scene was clear, but an investigation was ongoing.
