The first Keke’s Breakfast Cafe to hit Texas has landed in Dallas.
The chain, now owned by the late-night breakfast company Denny’s, focuses on breakfast, brunch, and lunch. All-in, five locations are expected to open in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The first spot in the city will open at 7700 W Northwest Hwy. #600 in the Lincoln Park center, across from NorthPark. The restaurant takes over the former home of maternity clothing store A Pea in a Pod, next to Tom Thumb.
Four additional locations will also open: two in Fort Worth, one in Grand Prairie, and another in McKinney.
Keke’s was founded in 2006 in Orlando by brothers Kevin and Keith (hence “Keke”) Mahan. The Mahans were inspired to open the restaurant to fill the void of what they felt was a lack of quality breakfast spots in the market, similar to the ones they enjoyed back in their home city of Philadelphia.
The chain prides itself on freshness and quality.
“You’ll find a lot of things in our kitchen—like coffee ground in-house, hand-cracked eggs, fresh fruit cut to order, and yes, real butter and whipped cream. What you won’t find is a microwave. Why? Because we believe in using only the freshest ingredients prepared to order for every guest, every time. If there’s a better way, we haven’t found it,” reads a description on Keke’s website.
Although Denny’s acquired Keke’s in 2022, the chain continues to operate independently.
Keke’s menu spans many classic favorites, like waffles and pancakes. They also boast a wide selection of three-egg omelets served alongside home fries or grits. More unique items include decadent stuffed French toast, like the Turtles version, packed with pecans, caramel, chocolate, and fudge drizzle.
Keke’s also offers a five-egg-white meal, complete with turkey bacon or sausage and toast, for those watching their calories.
For lunch, expect paninis, sandwiches, salads, and wraps, like the chicken Caesar wrap or Carolina chicken wrap.
