DART announced that it would have limited service over the Thanksgiving holiday this year.
The buses, light-rail trains, and streetcars will operate on a weekend schedule on Thursday and Friday this week. Additionally, the TRE line will not run on Thursday and will run on a weekend schedule on Friday.
Normal weekday service has the light rail arriving every seven and a half to 15 minutes during rush hour. On the weekend, it arrives every 20 minutes. Buses and trains will keep their regular hours of 5 a.m. to 12 a.m.
GoLink, which offers on-demand trips that can take passengers to their destinations or connect them to other trains or buses, will only operate in certain areas on Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday, it will operate in the following areas: Northwest Dallas, Inland Port, Rylie, West Dallas, North Dallas, North Central Dallas, and Park Cities.
Friday’s zones of operation for GoLink include the former mentioned, along with Cypress Waters, Central Richardson, Legacy West, North Central Plano/Chase Oaks, Rowlett, Southeast Garland, Central Irving, and Mountain Creek.
DART Mobility Management’s paratransit call center, which aids customers in scheduling trips over the phone, will be closed Thursday through Sunday, meaning those who need to schedule a trip should call today, November 23. Otherwise, customers can schedule trips online.
Due to the busy nature of Thursday morning, DART will be operating three additional Red Line trains and one additional Blue Line train.
All train and bus schedules will return to normal on Saturday.
The DART customer information center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will open back up on Friday. However, administrative offices, the customer care center, and the lost and found will be closed on both Thursday and Friday.
