Dallas’s New Year’s Eve drone show is back to welcome the new year.

The “Over the Top NYE 2023” show will take place around Reunion Tower and feature 259 LED drones. The number of drones matches the number of lights on the tower.

The event will benefit pediatric healthcare provider Children’s Health through the Reunion Tower NYE Foundation, which began in 2020 and showcases a local North Texas nonprofit organization each year, according to a press release.

Sky Elements, which will fly the drones on New Year’s Eve, is the self-proclaimed “leading drone light show provider in the United States,” according to the company’s website.

Rick Boss, who leads Sky Elements, called the event the “top celebration” and noted that the company is “pleased to be a part of it again this year.”

“This show fits seamlessly into the fabulous pyrotechnics and light show. To have the same number of drones as the light show will make this evening one to remember.”

The drones will be flying alongside fireworks and other special effects. This year is expected to be the most extravagant show since its inception.

The Reunion Tower lawn will not be open to the public, but people can view the show from the Hyatt Regency Dallas hotel and other nearby locations.

The Hyatt will host several events that evening for those wishing to ring in the new year there. They will offer a $55 dinner buffet with live music at the Reunion Ballroom from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Parrino’s will also be open for an Italian dinner that night, or patrons can go straight to the Monduel’s bar to dance to live DJ music with no reservation needed. The next day, Centennial Cafe will hold a New Year’s Day jazz brunch from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Booking for all the above dining options is essential. Click here for more details.

The drone show will be live-streamed and air on television – being the “only 360-degree, panoramic fireworks spectacular in the Central time zone,” according to Reunion Tower.
